WKB
Most of my attention is on WKB, a project for exploring competitive play, starting with VALORANT.
I originally wanted to build a useful place to follow matches without betting ads. I was aiming to have it ready for Champions, but the official data access I was counting on hadn’t come through. I returned to some unfinished video-analysis tools and started building a way to collect and study the broadcasts myself.
That became a workbench for gathering footage, extracting observations from video frames, running experiments, and inspecting the results. The setup came together around the final, later than I’d hoped. It also gave me a different direction: building my own broadcast-derived dataset and deciding which questions it can help answer.
Right now, I’m working on making those analyses clear and engaging. I’m gathering Champions footage for a detailed review and testing the workflow with Game Changers coverage. I’m focusing on individual events, using them to refine the tools and the way I explain what I find. The goal for next season is to produce useful analysis while an event is happening, or by the end of a day’s matches.
Carbon
I’m also developing Carbon, an offline Markdown notebook for notes and project files. It runs in a browser and keeps the work portable as ordinary files.
School
This semester at Old Dominion University, I’m taking Colloquium and Advanced Databases. WKB and some of my other projects give me a way to put what I’m learning about databases into practice.
3D printing
We recently got a 3D printer, and I’ve been printing a lot of things and learning what I can make with it.
